“Reading Robert Frost” Discussion with poet Casey FitzSimons, November 8th at Florey's!

Florey’s Book Company welcomes Redwood City poet Casey FitzSimons for the first in a series of discussions of Robert Frost’s poems. Casey is a widely published poet writing in form and free verse. She has a background in visual art, editing, and criticism. Her chapbooks include Standing in the Open House (2013) and The Breeze Was Mine: Poems in Form (2013). She has a master’s degree in Fine Arts from San José State University.

From Casey:

“We’ll develop our powers of poetic interpretation using well-known works of Robert Frost, one of America’s most famous and most accessible poets. We’ll read and discuss

Mending Wall
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
The Road Not Taken
Mowing

Some of the topics we’ll touch on are types of poems, poetic theme, metaphor and meaning, and poetic form (including rhythm and rhyme).”
