Florey’s Book Company welcomes Redwood City poet Casey FitzSimons in a discussion of Robert Frost’s poems. Casey is a widely published poet writing in form and free verse. She has a background in visual art, editing, and criticism. Her chapbooks include Against the Familiar Wall (2014) and Standing in the Open House (2013). She has a master’s degree in Fine Arts from San José State University.
From Casey:
This is a continuation of Frost's thematic subjects that we started in Reading Robert Frost 1. We'll review metaphor, meaning, and poetic form. We could discuss:
Birches
"Out, Out-"
Acquainted with the Night
The Silken Tent
Once in the Pacific
To Heavenward
Some topics we could touch on are how environment and era affect a poet's work, the role of sensory images, how a poet explores his or her own themes.
