Florey's Books invites you to our ongoing poetry event.

The featured poets this month are: Marvin R. Hiemstra and Philip Zimmerman. The featured poets will be followed by an open mic period. Open mic sign-up is first come, first served. This event is open to the public and free of charge. You are welcome to bring a snack or beverage to share.
Marvin R. Hiemstra was born a tongue in cheek Leo in the Year of the Rabbit and serenaded by a tiny prairie grass frog on his wrist at age three. Poet, humorist, founding Editor-in-Chief of the Bay Area Poets Seasonal Review, and multi-tasking greenman, Marvin, recent work inCaveat Lector, Amsterdam Quarterly, The Satirist, and Healdsburg and Beyond, publishes and performs around the world. Dana Gioia called the DVD, French Kiss Destiny, "superb work." The Tower Journal praised Poet Wrangler: Droll Poems: "Marvin R. Hiemstra is at his best in this collection."
Philip Zimmerman aka Zebulon is an artist and poet and has exhibited and performed in Portland, New York City and San Francisco for the last 38 years. He makes his living restoring furniture and selling his art. His website is www.pzebulon.com.
