“Reading Robert Frost” Discussion with poet Casey FitzSimons, February 14th at Florey's!

Florey’s Book Company welcomes Redwood City poet Casey FitzSimons for the third in a series of discussions of Robert Frost’s poems. Casey is a widely published poet writing in form and free verse. She has a background in visual art, editing, and criticism. Her chapbooks include Against the Familiar Wall (2014) and Standing in the Open House (2013). She has a master’s degree in Fine Arts from San José State University.

From Casey:

“Frost’s can be deeply self-reflective. At the extreme, it’s hard to know what he’s talking about. We’ll try to unravel the “ulterior” meaning (Frost’s own expression) in some of his later, more philosophical works:

For Once, Then, Something
The Most of It

Some of the topics we’ll touch on are extended metaphor, a poet’s wellspring of inspiration, and allusion to other works.”

This is a free discussion event. Non-poets are welcome. Poem copies will be provided. No need to commit to other sessions. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you know you’ll attend, RSVP to or (650) 224-9857, or contact her with specific questions.

We hope to see you!
