Florey's Books invites you to our ongoing poetry event!

The featured poets this month are Laura Davis and Rosemary Ybarra-Garcia

From Sherri:

New Year Greetings to You All!

Once more, a fresh new year has rolled around, and I hope that now, at the threshold, it looks filled with possibility and poetry for you. I'm pleased to announce our first reading of the year, and hope you will consider joining us. Our featured poets, Rosemary Ybarra-Garcia and Laura Davis will offer us their fresh perspective as our poetic sustenance for the month.

A NOTE: Last season, I acquiesced to a suggestion that we do open mic first, followed by the break, and features. Upon reflection, I've decided to return to the original show flow of features first, break, and then open mic. My apologies for any confusion this flagrant tampering with the program might have caused!

What remains the same is that I so much appreciate your help with providing snacks, drinks or supplies (plates, napkins, cutlery, etc.) for the table. Anything you are able to do is marvelous, and if not this time, perhaps another time!

As always, you are invited to bring your own, or a favorite poet's work to read at open mic. I ask that you limit your reading to 3 minutes (and this includes anything you want to say to introduce the work). It's my agreement with Aaron Schlieve, our generous host, to wrap up the evening by 9:30 or before, so the courtesy of observing time limits is greatly appreciated.
